Is BudgetOptim really free?
Yes. BudgetOptim is free, with no ads and no data selling. No payment method is needed to create an account.
How does receipt scanning work?
Take a photo of a receipt, or import an image or a PDF. An artificial intelligence model reads the merchant, date, total, taxes and lines, and suggests a category. Nothing is saved until you have checked and confirmed it. The number of scans is limited per household and per month, with room for everyday family use, to keep the service free.
Do I need to connect my bank account?
No. BudgetOptim does not connect to any bank. You add your spending and income yourself, by hand or by scanning your receipts.
Can I share the budget with my household?
Yes. Send an invitation link, valid for 7 days, and choose a role: member to add spending, viewer to read only, admin to manage categories and budgets. You can also follow several households.
Is my data safe?
Connections are encrypted and only the members of a household can access its data. Receipts are stored in private storage. Your data is never used for advertising or profiling.
Can I export or delete my data?
Yes, at any time, from Settings > Security and data: the export downloads your data as a file, and deletion erases your account. In a shared household, your transactions stay visible to the other members, without your name.

Any recent web browser, on a phone or a computer. On your phone, add BudgetOptim to your home screen to open it like an app.
Which languages and currencies?
BudgetOptim is available in English, French and Spanish. You choose your household's currency: euro, dollar, peso and many more.
