Terms of use

BudgetOptim lets you track a household's spending and income, sort them by category, set budgets and share them with other people. The service is free and has no ads.

BudgetOptim is a tracking tool. It gives no financial, tax or legal advice and does not connect to any bank.

• You provide a valid e-mail address and keep your password confidential.
• You are old enough in your country to consent on your own to the processing of your data (15 in France, 14 in Spain), or you have the consent of a person with parental responsibility.
• You are responsible for what is done from your account.

A household is a shared space. Its owners and admins invite people and give them a role: owner, admin, member or viewer. The members of a household see its transactions and receipts: only invite people you trust and only enter information you may share with them.

If you leave a household or delete your account, the transactions you entered stay in the household, shown as “Former member”.

Scanning relies on an artificial intelligence model, which can make mistakes. You check the suggested information before saving it and you remain responsible for what you enter. The number of scans per day is limited.

You agree not to:

• use the service for illegal purposes;
• try to access other households' data or to get around the service's limits and protections;
• disrupt the service, for example with massive automated requests;
• upload illegal or malicious content.

Your data belongs to you. You allow us to host and process it only to run the service, as described in the privacy policy. You can export it and delete your account at any time.

We do our best to keep the service available and reliable, but cannot guarantee it: maintenance and incidents may interrupt it. The service evolves: features may be added, changed or removed. Keep an export of your data if it matters to you.

The BudgetOptim name, the website, the app and their content, apart from your data, are protected. You get a personal, non-exclusive right to use them for as long as you have an account.

The service is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for decisions you make based on the information displayed, nor for indirect damage. Nothing in these terms limits the rights the law gives you, in particular as a consumer.

You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms, after telling you, except in an emergency (security, legal obligation).

We may change these terms. Significant changes will be announced before they take effect; if you do not accept them, you can delete your account.
